Project Makeup Empties

Hello beautiful ladies,

It has been nearly two months since I wrote a blog post because my life was insanely busy but I am back into a routine and ready to take my blog further in 2018 than I ever thought possible. I’d like to welcome all my new followers over the time I was on a break as well.

So, my first post for 2018 is about emptying some of my makeup items. Last year, I had to complete goals to buy makeup (which I won’t be continuing this year), but this year I want to use up some of my makeup stash. I have so much makeup that will need to be thrown out before I ever use it up if I keep buying makeup.

However, being a makeup junkie, I couldn’t just give up buying makeup for the whole year so……..to give me added incentive to use up what I chosen, I’m allowing myself to replace 1 item (with the same or a new one) when two are used up. I’m also allowed to buy makeup with my ‘allowance’ that my fiancé and I each receive every week.

So, what’s in my project empties?

Base Products

 

Primers

Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer – it’s a quarter full so it shouldn’t be too hard to empty this one. I love this primer too so it’ll go on the repurchase list.

Too Faced Primed & Poreless Skin Smoothing Face Primer – its half full so I’ll have to use this a lot to empty it. I like it but I would rather the Hourglass one.

The Ordinary High-Adherence Silicone Primer – it’s probably a third full so hopefully shouldn’t take too long to empty. I prefer the fluid primer from The Ordinary so this won’t make it on the repurchase list either.

Foundations

Nars Sheer Glow – this is about a quarter full and one of my favourite foundations so it’ll make it on my repurchase list but the new natural radiant longwear foundation may win out as a new purchase.

Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless – this is about a quarter full and I’ve already repurchased it from a sale late last year knowing I was getting low.

It Cosmetics CC+ Colour Correcting Cream – This one is about half full and will definitely make it back on to my repurchase list.

Concealers

Maybelline Age Rewind Treatment Concealer – This is about three quarters full (I replaced it last year) but I did use it a lot so hopefully I’m not over aiming here. There are a couple of new concealers I’d like to try but it will go onto my repurchase list for now.

Colourpop No Filter Concealer – My go to concealer at the moment is about two thirds full so shouldn’t be a problem emptying this year. It’s definitely going back onto my repurchase list.

Face Products

Bronzers

Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer – Truthfully, I don’t think I’m going to pan this one but I’ve included it because while I was on holidays, the plastic insert on the lid has come away and just sits on top of the product now. As much as I love this bronzer, there are some other ones I’d also like to try so I’m not sure if it’ll make it onto the repurchase list this year.

Blushes

Nars Blush/Bronzer Duo in Orgasm and Laguna – I’m not sure if this is possible to pan these either this year but I’ll try. Again, there’s other products I’d like to try  but this would definitely end up being repurchased at some stage.

Eye Products

Eyeshadow Palettes

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette – This was such a hard decision because there’s palettes I really want to use more of this year, however, in the end I chose the palette that I can turn to without fail for a multitude of different looks. I was supposed to have two palettes, but I knew that was not achievable for me. I also originally thought that if I panned half, it would classify as empty but I’m happy if I panned 5. It’s a 100% repurchase.

Mascaras

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara – This is nearly empty so shouldn’t be too hard for me. I’ve purchased the Luscious version of this mascara already to replace this one.

Essence Lash Princess Mascara – This one is about half full on estimate so I’ll have to use it quite a bit. I’ve bought the I love Extreme mascara from Essence to replace this one already.

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara – There’s not a lot left in here so I’ll use this up quickly but I prefer the They’re Real mascara now that I’ve tried that one as well.

Ciate London Wonderwand Mascara – This is starting to dry up so I may not get around to using it fully but I’m going to try anyway. I received another one in the Chloe Morello set so I’ve already got a replacement.

Eyeliner

Kat Von D Ink Liner – This one is getting close to either empty or dry so shouldn’t be a problem using. I received a replacement with the Kat Von D/ Too Faced set I bought but I would’ve repurchased anyway.

Brow Products

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer in Soft Brown – I use this product almost every day that it isn’t in my photo box so I’m only estimating that its nearly empty based on that. I would repurchase this but there’s some more brow products from Benefit I’d like to try first.

Lip Products

Liquid Lipsticks

Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in Mannequin – This is about half full I think based on if I allow it to sit upright for long enough to show clear glass. It is a repurchase.

Too Faced Melted Liquified Lipstick in Nude – I’m only guessing there’s not a lot left because of how much I use this one. Its already been repurchased because I love it that much.

 

So that’s my project empties products that I’m going to try to use up this year. I’ve also devised two rules that will help me achieve this:

1. Two products from the basket I’ve put these products in must be used every time I do my makeup.
2. No makeup purchases until two items are used, then I can buy one either from what I’ve used or a replacement for either product.
