Hello beautiful ladies,
If you’ve been on Instagram or Pinterest or YouTube looking at makeup, then you would’ve come across this little baby. I am a sucker for packaging and even if the product wasn’t up to scratch, the packaging……So, is it worth all the hype or did I just get sucked in to paying for gorgeous packaging?
- BECCA x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette
- $89
First up, I must say that the packaging is spot on. It is made of high quality metal with a large mirror on the inside and even though its quite large (13.5cm x 10.5 cm roughly), it feels as though it would protect the product when travelling (I’m not dropping it or knocking it about to test this theory though). I also love the gold and white colouring although the gold, along with the mirror inside made my life hard for photograph purposes – the reflections were everywhere.
Rose Spritz
This is the colour you’d get if you mixed rose with gold. It is a beautiful warm pink with shimmery gold through it so if you don’t like shimmery blushes, this is not for you. I personally love this colour.
Amaretto
This is a matte warm brownish colour with a hint of pink that I actually use as a bronzer or contour. This is how I’ve been seeing this colour used a lot.
Pamplemousse
I would say this is for people who like a bright blush. This colour also has warm undertones and is more of a satin finish. I personally will be using this colour the least.
Champagne Pop
This highlighter is what started the hype when it was released as a stand alone highlighter, marketed at being suited to all skin tones. It is an apricot gold colour so I can see why it would suit a lot of skin tones. Apricot and peachy colours tend to have both yellow and pink undertones so whether you’re fair or dark, its likely to work for you.
Prosecco Pop
This highlight is more of a yellow gold that works perfectly on me but would possibly be too yellow on a fairer skin tone. This has been used every day I’ve worn makeup since since I bought it.
So, is it worth it? Yes, its worth every penny. It is highly pigmented (the first time I used it, I swiped my brush across rose spritz and onto my face and…..looked like a clown. So, I tapped the brush into pamplemousse and still had too much.) The highlighters are the same – don’t be heavy handed with this palette.
I did read somewhere (I can’t remember if it was a review or from Becca) that it was supposed to be buildable colour too – its not so if its being marketed like that, its false. However, because you only need a tiny amount for a lot of colour payoff, this palette will last a long time.
This palette is easily blendable, has great colour payoff, has a sturdy case that is absolutely beautiful and is long lasting (about 7 hours on me before it faded without setting spray; 10 hours with setting spray). What more could a woman want?
Until next time,
Nyobie
*Disclaimer* I have a medium skin tone with neutral undertones and my skin is combination but slightly drier than usual on my cheeks and temples. This is my opinion only and is not going to suit everyone.
I love this review! I need to try this palette. It is so beautiful

I love how pigmented it is once I stopped trying to use it like my other ones. I had to buy before I tested because Sephora is not even close to me but I’m glad I did.

It’s gorgeous!! Can we get it singular?

Not at this stage and I haven’t heard that it will be released as a singular. Having said that, if it proves that customers want it as a singular, they may bring it out as one.

I totally agree! Absolutely adore this palette! The packaging and the product are both beautiful, but you’re right in saying its pigmented!

The upside to high pigments is it lasts longer, which in this case, being a limited edition is vital. 😊

I must say pamplemousse is not mine either – it’s a bit too pink for me but the Rose Spritz is lovely.
