Hello beautiful ladies,
I am so sorry about my lack of posts these last few months but I had so much going on with uni and work that I had to prioritise my spare time with my family over my blog. However, with my uni semester nearly finished, and three months off before I start next year, I’ll be returning to regular posting very soon. Thank you to everyone who has continued to support and encourage me.
My first post back is going to be something new for me but a topic I find myself drawn to when I have a few minutes to read my subscribed blog posts or watch a YouTube video – an anti-haul. Basically, products I won’t be buying. Please note that this is just my personal opinion and has nothing to do with the brands involved. All photos are from the supplier I have mentioned.
COLOURPOP My Little Pony Palette – $16.00USD ($20.58AUD) from Colourpop
While I’ve just received my much desired Colourpop order with the Yes, Please palette, and I have been dying to get my hands on that palette for months, this palette just doesn’t appeal to me at all. The teal shade is interesting but for the most part, it just doesn’t speak to me. For some of you that have followed me on Instagram and on my blog, that must sound strange because I like palettes that are different to all the others and yet this one IS different and I don’t want it???? I can’t explain why except I look at it and think, meh. However, if Fem Rosa comes back and I need some items to gain the free international shipping, I might just at it to my cart for review purposes.
TOO FACED Glitter Bomb Eyeshadow Palette – $66.00 from Mecca
I love glitter and shimmers. I usually use them wet just for the wow factor if I’m doing a shimmer or glitter eye and I love the intensity but……$66 for 8? Nope. None of these shades are that unusual or appealing to me when I have the Metal Matte and Serpentina palettes from Kat Von D and Rose Gold palettes from Huda Beauty. As much as I love Too Faced, this one is a pass for me.
KKW BEAUTY Crème Contour and Highlight Kit – $48USD ($61.80AUD) from Kkwbeauty
I’m not going to bag this whole line because the Crème Liquid Lipstick collection is on my wishlist and the powder contour and highlight kit does look appealing to me. The biggest reason I won’t be buying these is the fact I watched a YouTube video with these and the amount of product you get for $62 just isn’t worth it for me. Plus, I generally lean towards powder contour over cream anyway so I couldn’t see myself using these a lot.
BECCA Eye Lights Palette – $76.00 from Sephora
The packaging on this palette is absolutely stunning and before my no-buy promise, that would have been enough for me to say, yep, I need that. However, I don’t actually NEED any more shimmer only palettes even when they are Becca’s iconic shades from the highlighter collection (pearl, rose quartz, moonstone, opal and topaz plus two new ones, toasted marshmallow and hot cocoa). Yes, its beautiful, yes, I’d love to have it but no, I don’t want to pay $76 for another palette I don’t really need.
VIOLET VOSS x Nicol Concilio Palette – $63.50AUD from Beauty Bay
This is another palette that actually really appeals to me shade selection wise, but its just too similar to other palettes I have (or plan to buy). I’ve just bought the Yes, Please from Colourpop which actually has a more interesting selection of warm tones with a yellow shade and a burgundy included and I’m waiting for the Natasha Denona restock of Sunset which I am definitely buying. An Insta friend of mine has similar taste in makeup to me and she highly recommends the Sunset palette. So, I really just don’t need this one as well.
I hope you enjoyed my anti-haul post which I’ll be making semi-regular as I come across products I won’t be buying.
Is there any products you’ve decided you won’t be buying and why?
Thank you for reading 🙂
